Information Graphics (infographics) serve to inform like an article by conveying easily accessible interpretations of data. I have come across a few really good resources of statistical data from which infographics can be created.

The following are my favorites:

visual.ly.com The best resource for browsing others' work and submitting your own.

google.com/publicdata/home Compile statistical data and create impressive graphs related to economics, the environment, and much more.

http://www.gapminder.org/world Similar to the Google public data site.

Some of my personal work to follow shortly.

ambigramI received the final version of the RisingDesign ambigram from Tiffany Harvey and am completely pleased with the result. Flip the image in the banner up-side-down and it reads the same way.

Additionally, the contact form is up and running for anyone who would like to contact at RisingDesign.

Peace

So, I've decided to move everything over to a new content management system.  I was experimenting with iWeb, Wordpress, Joomla, among other and was weighing the pros and cons of each.  Whereas I will likely use all three to varying degrees and depending on the project's needs, Joomla seems to be the best fit. I can edit code as much as I'd like without being tied to a template without having to worry about mixing up content when theme changes are made. I like tying everything to the SQL Database to make editing a site more dynamic and a lot easier.

The Flash navigation menu and frame are set up. I have yet to include any meaningful content but the structure is finished. I particularly like the floating marker effect.

I’m in the process of deciding on a few links and partnerships to include. I am also setting up a PayPal link for viewers interested in grabbing some graphics and a Google AdSense account for some of the available advertising space.

anisotropy

Oh and the image... Anisotropy, a term usually applied to the geometry of the universe, describes objects that appear different when measured in different directions. In other words the universe, on the largest possible scale, is not homogeneous. Why did I make an image of the word...? Why not?
